At Steding & Sons, we love kratom and we are very grateful for the role that it has played in our lives, and hope that our products will play a positive role in the lives of those that choose to incorporate them. Still, we know that kratom may not be the right choice for everybody. We encourage all consumers and potential consumers to seek various perspectives and be intentional in your choices.
This page links to a wide variety of resources, including some perspectives that differ from ours. We believe that open and honest conversation has never been more important and acknowledge that people on all sides of the "kratom debate" have a valid perspective to share. Our mission has always been to share something we believe in and play a small role in improving people's lives. That goes beyond "selling a product."
There are thousands of very powerful voices who declare that kratom has improved, and some say even saved their very lives, including many US Veterans and successful professionals. On the other side of the coin, the introduction of 7oh and other incredibly potent products, in addition to some very questionable marketing campaigns have brought kratom to the forefront of many people's consciousness over the course of the last few years, often in a negative way. Now, we stand at a crossroads and the future of kratom depends on scientific research, mutual respect and the open and honest sharing of experiences and perspectives.
OUR perspective is simply that, one perspective of many. We are not doctors, we are not your doctor. We are just a group of people that love real kratom and wish to share something we love. We believe kratom is best utilized in moderation and we are firm believers in the need for national regulation of kratom products including: minimum age requirements, transparency in labeling, established alkaloid limits, mandatory audits of kratom facilities and clear legal definitions of the variety of kratom products. While we believe that certain isolates may be very beneficial to some people, at some point the line between "generally recognized as safe" and "nah, probably not" is crossed, and we feel there is a need for stringent regulation and control of 7oh and other synthetic/semi-synthetic isolates and compounds. Put simply: 7oh is NOT kratom.

While our unique perspective, and others, may not always be exactly that of the American Kratom Association, we are very proud to support their efforts and we must all give credit where credit is well due. We understand that kratom is not the right choice for everybody, and also acknowledge that some people have stated that, for them, kratom has been problematic. At Steding & Sons, we are committed to lifelong learning: As our knowledge expands, we will continue to share in the most transparent way possible. Please understand that the sharing of our perspective is only that; our PERSPECTIVE. If you are interested in taking a break from kratom or curious about leaving it it behind, the above resources may be interesting. You may also consider online communities, such as the "Quitting Kratom" Reddit Group - HERE or Kratom Sobriety Podcast - HERE The perspectives shared on these groups may vary significantly from our perspective at Steding & Sons (hint: We LOVE Kratom, many in those groups DO NOT) but they may be helpful to those that are seeking support in transitioning to a kratom-free lifestyle. I have found many helpful tools for taking kratom breaks on those websites myself, and I take breaks intentionally. I am taking a year off of kratom, starting September 2025, and I'm looking forward to it. I've been a consumer for 12 years and though I have taken "reset" breaks, I have not taken an extended period of time off of kratom and I"m excited to do so. I am excited to explore other plants and supplements that may be helpful for me, and possibly you! If you choose to explore the above websites, please be respectful.
